Posh. 1. (of people and their voices) from a high social class, e.g. "a posh accent"
2. (of places and things) expensive and of high quality e.g. "a posh restaurant"

Posh, used in reference to people, is slightly derogatory, i.e. you wouldn't call someone posh to their face and posh people don't call each other posh.

Catherine Tate
does, I think, a brilliant impersonation of a posh English mother. Check out her sketches:

Derogatory. Tending to lessen the merit or reputation of a person or thing;

  1. Funny video - had only seen catherine tate on Little Britain. Love the 'organic eggs'!

  2. Yes isn't she great? She also does a hilarious teenager called Lauren (among others)
