Make room. Rearrange or organise existing people, objects or activities to create space for new things.
I love this ad from the sports shop Decathlon, "Make room for hiking". A man and two children carrying rucksacks are rolling up the urban landscape as if it were a carpet, to make room (or space, time) for the countryside (and walking).
Hiking. To walk a great distance, especially through rural areas, for pleasure or exercise
Carpet. A thick heavy covering for a floor, usually made of wool or synthetic fibre.
Please, make a bit of room for me... after living in The Lakes and back in Barcelona now, that´s the only thing (yes, the only thing!) I miss now... the sound of the trees, the colours of the hills, the rumour of streams and falls of water... oooohhhhhh!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish we could do what you see in the advert and change this grey world for a green one!
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
W. Wordsworth
Sounds so lovely Jordi, I can't believe I still haven't been to the Lake District. The spring does make you want to get out there, doesn't it? Great poem too and v. fitting :-)
ReplyDeleteJordi,
ReplyDeleteI don't know you, but I can't believe that's the ONLY thing you miss! What about Cadbury's chocolate? Fish and chips? Marmite??? OK, that's going a bit too far, perhaps.
Yes Jordi, is that REALLY the only thing you miss? Don't believe it! :-)
